We're doing "Messianic checkpoints" where we read one of the Gospels each quarter while we go through the Bible chronologically. Some people expressed concern about spending 10 months in the Old Testament before we get to Jesus. There were concerns about attention span lol. Fr. Mike Schmitz does "messianic checkpoints" in his Bible in a Year Plan and a lot of people said they like that format - plus it allows us to see how Jesus is foretold throughout the Old Testament. The first messianic checkpoint is actually John starting day 99.
